Students in our undergraduate programs have access to dedicated advising services that support their academic journey and personal growth. By working one-on-one with knowledgeable advisors, students receive guidance in shaping academic plans that align with their interests, strengths, and future career aspirations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students are welcome to contact the Engineering Advising Office at any point in their academic careers for guidance on curriculum, course schedules, or program requirements. They can connect students to faculty or industry mentors and help guide students to campus resources and offices, as well as preparing for employment after graduation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Advising Policy <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

All engineering students are required to be advised by the Office of Engineering Advising every semester until they have earned thirty credits. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After earning thirty credits, applied engineering students in good standing are required to meet yearly with the Engineering Advising Office. Students are to be advised in either the fall or spring semesters, depending on their student ID number. Even ID numbers are advised in the fall, before spring registration, and odd ID numbers are advised in the spring, before summer or fall registration. It is the responsibility of the student to schedule these meetings, when prompted by e-mail from the advisor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instructions for Advising Appointments <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Select and follow the curriculum plan based on your catalog year. Curriculum plans can be found by visiting the college\u2019s Curricula website<\/a> and navigating to the Industrial Engineering section. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Use the information from your DARS Report<\/a> and write required courses on the Academic Plan Sheet for the next two semesters. Indicate any classes which you received a grade of C- or lower. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Make an appointment with your advisor through VolConnect, available by logging into your MyUTK<\/a> account. Bring your academic plan and curriculum plan with you to the meeting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If no appointments are available, please call the Engineering Advising Office at 865-974-4008 or send an email to engradvising@utk.edu<\/a>.
