Students and Faculty Enjoy WomEngineers Welcome Dinner

The WomEngineers Welcome Dinner on Thursday, August 24, offered an opportunity for incoming female engineering students from all majors to network with faculty, student organizations, staff, and other students.

Attendees heard from several speakers, including Jamie Coble, assistant professor in nuclear engineering, and senior in mechanical engineering Mary Beth Iannuzzi.

“My thermodynamics class has more than a hundred guys and maybe ten girls, so it’s great to meet some other girls that understand what it’s like,” said nuclear engineering freshman Ashley Goluoglu.

“I wasn’t expecting this many people,” said nuclear engineering freshman Olivia Crawley, who met up with Goluoglu while in line for the photo booth.
